Norbert Sipos

dr. iur. Univ. Debrecen, Rechtsassessor (D)

Norbert was born in Hungary and studied law in Debrecen (Hungary) and Passau (Germany), where he completed his degree with honors.

In 2005, he joined NZP in Nuremberg after working several years at the Federal Ministry of Defense (Bundesministerium für Verteidigung). Initially, he worked as a lawyer for 10 years, and now he serves as Of Counsel Rechtsassessor in all areas of German-Hungarian commercial law.

Due to his additional studies and years of litigation experience in all instances of Hungarian civil courts, his special areas of expertise include Hungarian commercial law, particularly on behalf of German insolvency administrators, Hungarian insolvency and company law, contract and property law. He is especially involved in the development of case law concerning the compensation for void property purchase agreements under Hungarian property law in the interest of affected real estate agents.

Recently, his fight for the landmark judgments on the nullity of so-called foreign currency loans provided by Hungarian financial institutions has received a lot of attention in the Hungarian press and media.

His significant practical knowledge primarily lies in Hungarian civil law and procedural law. Additionally, he has expertise in shareholder disputes, director and officer liability, compensation claims of commercial agents, distributors, independent branch managers and franchisees under EU, Swiss and Hungarian law, as well as in legal disputes concerning goods deliveries.
