For Turkish companies conducting business with Germany, regular travel by executives and employees is often essential for commercial negotiations, investments and ongoing projects. However, visa procedures can create practical challenges for businesses requiring frequent cross-border travel.
The Business Fast Track (BFT) programme, introduced in cooperation with the German diplomatic missions in Türkiye and DEinternational Servis Hizmetleri A.Ş., provides a dedicated Schengen business visa procedure for employees of eligible companies.
The programme offers faster appointment arrangements, reduced documentation requirements and the possibility of longer-validity business visas. Nevertheless, participation is subject to corporate eligibility requirements, and individual visa applications remain subject to approval by the competent German diplomatic mission.
Which Companies Are Eligible for Business Fast Track?
Under the published 2026 framework, companies must satisfy at least two of the following three eligibility criteria:
- Institutional or corporate connection: Membership of AHK Türkiye, the Turkish-German Chamber of Industry and Commerce or the Türkiye-Germany Business Council (DEİK), or status as a subsidiary or branch of a German company. A two-year membership requirement generally applies, subject to specific exceptions.
- Economic size: At least 100 employees and annual turnover of at least EUR 500,000, according to the principal programme information.
- Economic connections with Germany: Documented investments, import-export activities, ongoing commercial projects or contractual relationships with German businesses.
Companies should assess their eligibility against the supporting corporate, financial and commercial documents required under the programme.
For international corporate groups, the distinction between branches and legally independent subsidiaries is particularly important. Separate legal entities may require individual applications, even where they belong to the same corporate group.
Business Fast Track Applications: Deadlines, Required Documents and Fees
For the published 2026 registration period, the application deadline is 30 November 2026, with newly admitted companies scheduled to participate from 15 January 2027.
Applications must be submitted through the designated online registration platform, together with the supporting corporate documentation.
Required Documents for Business Fast Track Registration
According to AHK Türkiye’s official application guidance, the following documents are required, as applicable to the company’s eligibility criteria and corporate circumstances:
- Application questionnaire: The completed questionnaire, including the declaration confirming the accuracy of the information provided, signed by an authorised company representative and bearing the company stamp.
- Membership certificate: Where eligibility is based on institutional membership, a current certificate confirming the relevant chamber or DEİK membership and its commencement date. AHK Türkiye members are not required to submit a separate membership certificate.
- Commercial registry certificate (Ticaret Sicili Tasdiknamesi): A certificate issued no more than one month before the application. Separate certificates must be provided for branches included in the application.
- Latest Trade Registry Gazette record: The most recently published corporate registry record, clearly identifying the company’s name, registration number and registration date.
- Certificate of activity (Faaliyet Belgesi): A certificate issued within the preceding month, containing a QR code or digital signature.
- Authorised signature circular (İmza Sirküleri): A valid document identifying the persons authorised to represent the company, including those authorised to sign documents relating to visa applications. The document must not be older than three years unless an updated notarised copy is provided.
- Tax registration certificate (Vergi Levhası): The current tax certificate identifying the company’s registered name and tax number.
- Balance sheet and income statement: Financial statements for the latest completed financial year, signed and stamped by an authorised representative, independent auditor or accountant.
- Audit report or corporate income tax return: The audit report for the latest completed financial year or, where unavailable, the latest corporate income tax return accompanied by the relevant payment receipts. Companies relying on the economic-size criterion must demonstrate the required annual turnover.
- Tax clearance certificate: A current document issued through the Turkish e-Government system or the competent tax office confirming the absence of outstanding tax liabilities.
- Declaration concerning insolvency proceedings: A signed and stamped company declaration confirming the absence of insolvency proceedings, or qualifying documentation obtained through MERSİS confirming that the company is not subject to restructuring or insolvency proceedings.
- Social Security Institution (SGK) workplace registration documents: Employer or workplace registration documents identifying the relevant company and each branch included in the application, including the applicable 26-digit workplace registration numbers.
- Latest monthly employee contribution and service assessment statement: The most recent SGK documentation confirming the relevant workforce. Companies relying on the economic-size criterion must demonstrate the required employee threshold. Employees of legally independent affiliated companies cannot be combined for this purpose.
- Declaration and supporting evidence of economic connections with Germany: A declaration signed by an authorised representative explaining the company’s economic relationship with Germany, accompanied by the documentary evidence prescribed for the relevant category.
- Compliance declaration: The prescribed compliance declaration, with its initial pages initialled and its final page signed by an authorised representative and stamped. The original signed document must also be sent separately to DEinternational.
How Can Companies Demonstrate Economic Connections with Germany?
The supporting evidence depends on the nature of the company’s German business relationships.
The official guidance identifies the following categories of documentation:
- Investments in Germany: German commercial registry extracts, shareholder records, group structure charts, incorporation documents, share purchase agreements and investment or financing documentation.
- Import and export relationships: Supply agreements, commercial invoices, purchase orders, customs declarations, import-export documentation, transport documents, delivery notes and certificates of origin.
- Ongoing projects or contracts: Project, service or cooperation agreements, purchase orders, project plans, performance records, project reports, reference letters and relevant correspondence.
- Technical or service cooperation: Maintenance and technical cooperation agreements, training or audit documentation, factory acceptance records, certificates, research and development or licensing agreements, meeting minutes and relevant project correspondence.
The programme is intended for companies maintaining substantive and regular commercial relationships with Germany. General market research, unspecified networking activities or invitations lacking evidence of a concrete business relationship are not ordinarily sufficient to establish the relevant economic connection.
Companies should ensure that their supporting documents are current, consistent with their commercial registry records and submitted in the prescribed format. The competent authorities may request additional information or documentation during the assessment.
Participation Fees and Subsequent Visa Applications
The published participation assessment fees are:
- EUR 700 plus VAT for AHK Türkiye members.
- EUR 800 plus VAT for non-members.
These fees are separate from individual visa application charges.
Following corporate approval, employees may apply for visa appointments through iDATA under the Business Fast Track category. Admission to the programme does not guarantee the issuance of an individual visa.
Key Legal Considerations for Turkish Companies
Participation in Business Fast Track involves several legal considerations beyond the administrative submission of documents.
Corporate structure and documentation: Companies should ensure that their ownership arrangements, commercial registry records, representation authorities and supporting documents accurately reflect the applicant’s legal status and economic activities.
Business travel and employment activities: A business visa does not constitute a general German work permit. Activities such as attending meetings or negotiating contracts may be treated differently from machinery installation, technical maintenance or other operational assignments, which may require additional authorisation or notification.
Schengen visa limitations: Approval under the programme does not guarantee a particular visa validity period or multiple-entry status. Short-term stays ordinarily remain subject to the Schengen limit of 90 days within any 180-day period.
An appropriate legal assessment can help businesses identify documentation requirements, evaluate the nature of intended activities and address potential compliance issues before employees travel to Germany.
