It explored the development of Turkish legal thought from the Central Asian concept of\u00a0<em>T\u00f6re<\/em>\u00a0to the reception of the Swiss Civil Code, while comparing this process with Hungary\u2019s longer path towards civil-law codification. Particular attention was given to the role of customary law and the influence of Swiss law on the development of both legal systems.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The two-day congress brought together high-level officials, legal experts, and academics from member and observer states of the\u00a0Organization of Turkic States (OTS).
