Following the acquisition of an international manufacturer, we represented the company in a dispute against a former Canadian franchisee under a London-seated arbitration agreement. The matter involved complex cross-border elements, including coordinating proceedings across jurisdictions and addressing enforcement issues in Canada. A particular challenge arose from the debtor’s repeated changes of domicile between Canadian provinces, effectively turning enforcement into a moving target and requiring continuous adaptation of strategy in pursuing claims against private assets.
