Omer Batuhan Dogan, Associate at NZP NAGY LEGAL, will deliver a presentation as part of the M-EPLI Talks series at the Faculty of Law, Maastricht University, on 18 November 2026, entitled:

“Product Liability for AI-Based Products under the New Product Liability Directive (EU) 2024/2853”

The presentation will take place during his short-term research visit to the Maastricht European Private Law Institute (M-EPLI) from 9 to 21 November 2026.

The session will examine the evolving European legal framework governing liability for AI-based products, with particular attention to the revised Product Liability Directive (EU) 2024/2853. Key issues include the identification of defects in complex AI systems, the allocation of liability among economic operators, and the implications of the revised framework for consumer protection.

The event provides an opportunity for academic discussion on the legal challenges arising from artificial intelligence and technological innovation, particularly where traditional product liability principles intersect with increasingly autonomous and complex digital products.

This academic engagement reflects NZP NAGY LEGAL’s commitment to connecting legal scholarship with international legal practice, supporting the exchange of knowledge on emerging legal developments in artificial intelligence, product liability and European private law.
