An Exporter v. Regulatory Constraints: Dual-Use Compliance for Industrial Equipment

Case value: 750000€

We advised on the export of a complete industrial power plant from Germany, where the shipment raised concerns under EU dual-use regulations due to the potential for military application of certain components.

Before the shipment could leave Germany, a detailed due diligence review was required to assess whether the export was subject to authorisation requirements or restrictions. We supported the client in analysing the applicable regulatory framework, assessing the technical characteristics of the equipment, and ensuring that the export complied with dual-use rules.

This work was carried out in parallel with the physical shipment process in the Port of Hamburg, where legal assessment and logistics had to align precisely.
