Sense actualitzacions de programari sense sentit, sinó un compromís de la indústria automobilística amb la conversió a la normativa Euro 6, a càrrec seu. Aquestes són les exigències de Hartmut Bäumer, un expolític dels Verds, a Michael Müller, l'alcalde de Berlín. El mateix Bäumer, que és víctima, va fer que el seu dièsel sotmetés l'actualització de programari, que era obligatòria segons l'oficina del districte. El resultat: a causa de l'actualització, l'emissió de contaminants només va disminuir lleugerament. La xifra de NOx va registrar un descens de 37 mg, però amb 1.134 mg encara estava molt per sobre de la xifra permesa de 180 mg. La xifra de CO2, perjudicial per al medi ambient, fins i tot va augmentar un 7,1 %. Actualment s'espera una resposta de l'alcalde.
