Inversores de Europa del Este adquieren una central eléctrica alemana: fusiones y adquisiciones transfronterizas en un contexto de insolvencia

Case value: 12000000€

We advised a group of Eastern European (Russian) investors on the acquisition of a German power plant out of bankruptcy proceedings. The asset had previously been owned by an American asset management company, requiring careful coordination between insolvency stakeholders and cross-border transaction parties.

The mandate combined M&A structuring with insolvency-specific considerations, including negotiations with the seller and alignment of legal and commercial expectations across multiple jurisdictions. Particular importance was placed on managing language and cultural interfaces to ensure a smooth and efficient execution of the transaction.

Following the successful closing of the deal, the international nature of the mandate also carried over into a more informal setting, where we were pleased to discover that we could hold our own in a friendly round of shots with both the Eastern European investors and the American counterpart.
